Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Course – Peja, Kosovo
September 16, 2017PCM & MAT Kosovo’s EOD & ERW Training Establishment have, due to demand, begun to facilitate, support and advise on several exciting and innovative R&D and T&E projects on behalf of clients. Our position as the premier IMAS EOD Training Establishment means we have any number of requests to trial new equipment from manufacturers of electronic search equipment, for example. Additionally, and increasingly there is research into improving traditional means of disposing of ordnance, particularly by Low Order techniques. Recent R&D and T&E includes;
In the last few months, we have worked with a client to achieve a higher and therefore more acceptable rate of Low Order compared to High Order, on ‘as new’ live fused ammunition natures. This is by the improvement of the composition of the liners to better regulate heat and breakup of the Explosive Formed Projectile (EFP) as it penetrates the ordnance, creating burning or deflagration opposed to detonation.
Furthermore, in 2017 we have enabled a client to develop a small single item disposal pyrotechnic torch, which can dispose of plastic or thin metal cased ordnance, from AP & AT(V) mines to PG’s and other thin metal cased ordnance.
Going forward we are working with a client to develop a drone placed disruptor for C-IEDD, where the means of disposal is a flare placed by a UAS of under 7KG enabling remote controlled disposal.
We are also pleased to report that we are supporting a US University with variants of non-explosive alternatives to traditional explosive action EOD weapons, such as the Rocket Wrench and the De-armer.
If you’re interested in R&D and T&E please contact us and we can provide you with details on how to work with us to develop your system. info@pcm-erw.com
