A Living Symbol of Appreciation and Partnership
June 2, 2025Another Group of Ukrainian Students Graduates from MAT Kosovo with IMAS EOD Level 3 Certification
We’re celebrating the graduation of 20 Ukrainian sappers who have successfully completed their IMAS EOD Level 3 training. These specialists are now fully certified to lead operations in survey, mine clearance, battle area clearance and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). The certification of these 20 graduates at IMAS EOD Level 3 is an achievement for Ukrainian demining efforts and contribution to the broader humanitarian mine action ecosystem.
Over the 4-week intensive course, many participants – returning students who previously completed IMAS EOD Level 2 – formed a tight-knit, highly capable team. They demonstrated their ability to adapt and innovate in response to complex, real-world scenarios. Training included both high-order and low-order disposal techniques on a variety of live, fuzed land service munitions. Students trained with Alford Technologies systems and learned how to make improvised versions of these excellent EOD tools. The Poliex Range in Montenegro played a key role in delivering realistic, controlled live-fire training, significantly advancing the practical value of the course.
This intensive training was funded and coordinated by our partner, the Canadian non-profit organization Mriya Aid. Since November 2022, Mriya Aid’s team has made possible PCM-MAT Kosovo training of over 250 Ukrainian sappers.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing Ukrainian sappers, to Canada and all Mriya Aid donors for their continued and generous support. Their commitment makes vital training like this possible, contributing directly to the safety and recovery of Ukrainian communities.
