December 7, 2023CTRO and MAT Kosovo Sign a Framework Agreement in Relation of Training Deminers, EOD and IEDD Personnel
The cooperation between CTRO and MAT Kosovo, both renowned entities in the field of mine action, took a leap forward on October 11, 2023. Signed on that date the Framework Agreement for the training of deminers, EOD and IED personnel will now govern our already healthy cooperation on projects. With this agreement, both organisations have a solid basis to further intensify joint efforts and joint projects in the realm of professional training for mine action, EOD, and IEDD, enabling both to offer quickly and jointly respond to request to offer their products and services. Both parties are dedicated to mutually supporting each other in future projects.
CTRO, which stands for Croatian Mine Action Center – Center For Testing, Development And Training is a globally recognised organisation at the forefront of mine action. They’re the first institution performing testing, research, development and education in the field of mine action in the Republic of Croatia.
MAT Kosovo, a prominent institution in its own right – the world’s leading IMAS-compliant EOD and IEDD training establishment – offers the very best training of its type outside of the military, with a global reputation for the most current, up-to-date, and relevant training in very realistic settings and theoretical and practical scenarios.
Ben Remfrey, PCM and MAT Kosovo’s Managing Director stated,

Further building our cooperation with CTRO is something we take very seriously indeed.”
The next day, on October the 12th, Ben Remfrey the Managing Director of PCM and MAT Kosovo was part of the International Donors Conference on Humanitarian Demining of Ukraine where over 150 experts from 30 countries were gathered, hosted by CTRO in Zagreb, Croatia.
The panel discussions were highly illuminating and remarkably productive, particularly in addressing the CMD situation in Ukraine and outlining the necessary future actions.
