In response to demand, PCM & MAT Kosovo’s EOD & ERW Training Establishment are now advising, facilitating and supporting several innovative Research and Development (R&D) and Test and Evaluation (T&E) projects.
PCM & MAT Kosovo provide a ‘natural fit’ for researchers and equipment developers who need end-user inputs and a place to develop or test their work. As a fully equipped IMAS EOD Training Establishment, we can offer research assistance, manufacturing facilities, test protocol planning and independent test oversight. We have a wide range of test areas including varied terrain challenges and can offer controlled explosive testing that is not easily available elsewhere.
Our subject matter specialists can provide guidance that helps to optimise the value of your work.
PCM already have a mature relationship with several equipment manufacturers and can support innovators of any new or improved tools and technologies for use in HMA.
At this time, we are increasingly supporting research into improving traditional means of disposing of ordnance, particularly by low-order techniques.
The benefits of involving us in your R&D and/or T&E include:
- Our purpose-built workshop that can be used to assemble, configure, manufacture or repair your equipment.
- Access to well established test areas within our facility and many external test areas providing a wide range of terrain and vegetation challenges.
- You can choose between three explosive demolition ranges with full professional management of controlled explosive testing.
- We can provide live and fused munitions to use as targets when required.
- You will have access to subject-matter experts able to advise and evaluate who can also provide independent test protocols and oversight as required.
- We have the in-house skills and equipment to record your work as movies taken on the ground or from the air.
MAT Kosovo also offers in-house accommodation & 24-7 security.
With good communications links, our in-house administration provides visa and comprehensive support services including the provision of all transport needs, including Airport Transfers.
Our menu of charges is available on request.

If you are working in R&D or want to develop or test equipment for any aspect of humanitarian mine action, EOD and C-IED activities, we believe that we can help you to achieve your goals. Please contact us at info@pcm-erw.com
We owe a debt of gratitude to Ben Remfrey, Phil Jowett, and the staff of the EOD and Demining School at MAT Kosovo who coordinated access to demolition consumables and test range support. The MAT Kosovo staff were able to arrange and oversee blast testing with a professional flexibility and patience that was greatly appreciated. We recommend the MAT Kosovo R&D support capacity to all researchers in humanitarian mine action.
