Free from Explosives (FFE) Training Items Stock

We are adding to, broadening and enhancing our Free from Explosives (FFE) training items stock.

Throughout 2018 we undertook, with a great deal of effort by the team, to locate and procure a large quantity of ammunition and ordnance natures, which had the explosive content and fuses removed, to enhance our already impressive stock of FFE items.  It is essential that we, as an IMAS Compliant EOD & ERW Training Establishment, maintain our stock and broaden it to include as many variants as possible, so that our students can benefit from training with and recognising such items.

The new items include guided weapons (missiles and rockets), air-dropped bombs, projectiles, mortars and various other ordnance natures which are frequently encountered on operations globally.  To house the larger FFE items we developed a purpose-built covered area within the MK site where students can view and better understand the larger ordnance types. Even many of the larger items are available in duplicate at the MAT Kosovo Training Centre, to allow students and trainers to practice item recognition on individual components and simulate scenarios where only fragments of ordnance are found and need to be identified.
